Josephine Knez

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Josephine Knez, 76, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at her residence.

Josephine was born March 19, 1934, to the late George and Josephine Pezdirc Klepec in Borst Slovenija.

She worked 28 years as an assembly worker for Packard Electric, retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Rose Church, a former member of SNPJ Slovenija Lodge in Girard, Ohio and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her children, John Knez of Girard, David Knez of Pittsburgh and Kathy (Michael) White of Biglerville, Pa.; sisters Malka Molek of Borst, Slovenija and Anna Bell of Dunbar, Pa.; brothers Julius Klepec of Girard, Louis Klepec of Hamilton and Anton Klepec of Sarasota, Fla.; and three grandchildren, John Jr. and Jessie Knez, and Michaela Josephine White.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Knez, whom she married Dec. 7, 1957, and died Jan. 11, 2008.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Church, preceded by a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Girard City Cemetery.

The family request that material contributions be made to the Hospice House.
