Supancic, Ponikva pri Grobelnem?
I'm reseraching my Supancic ancestors. They are from Slovenia, but they later moved to Bosnia so the only piece of information I can rely on for their place of origin in Slovenia is a marriage record for Ivan Supancic who moved to the USA in 1903. It states that his parents are Anton and Francisca Supancic. The church marriage record issued in the US lists Ivan as Joannes Supancic from Ponikve, Stajersko.Ivan was born in 1885.
As far as I know, Anton (1856-1923) and Franciska(1864-1952) moved their family to Bosanska Krupa (Bosnia,at the time part of Austria-hungary just like Slovenia) around the turn of the century. Ivan has Krupa listed as his last place of residence before moving to the US. Apart from Ivan, Anton and Francisca had the following children:my GGF Ludvig(1882-1968)who was a blacksmith in Krupa (like his father, I am told), Anka (?-?) and possibly another son called Anton (1884-1905). Apart from Anka and Ivan, they were all buried in Krupa.
If any of this rings any bells or you have Supancics from Ponikve in your tree who could be related to Anton, please let me know. I appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance,
