The spelling of Demenciuc seems to have varied from family to family but as far as I can ascertain the original spelling was most likely Demenciuc, although here in Canada within our families, and on offical documents, it has been spelled as Demenciuk, Demencuik, Demenchuk, Deminchuk, Deminciuk, Demenchiuk, Demenciuc, Demenchuik among many other spellings.

I have been able to find out through Saskatchewan history books, censuses and by talking with the decendents of another line, that there were four brothers who came to Saskatchewan of Romanian extraction from Boian, Bukovina in the early 1900's. At one time they worked on the Parliment buildings in Regina, and later homesteaded in Saskatchewan. The four brothers were John, Bill, Nick, and Peter. Peter died around 1910 in an accident at work. Both John and Nick homesteaded near Stonehenge and later Nick moved to Maxstone, Saskatchewan and raised his family there. John stayed in the Stonehenge area and raised a large family. I have been in contact with one of the decendents of John's family, and according to them, Bill did not stay in the same area as Nicholas and John. One of John's daughters is still living in Asssinaboia, Saskatchewan and through her great nephew, I have been told that a few more brothers, and sisters stayed behind in the Boian region. My great grandfather was Nicholas, and he married another Romanian woman, and raised a family in Saskatchewan Canada. My grandmother, and all her siblings have now passed on.

I have been unable to find neither immigration records nor any information from the Boian region as of yet for any of the brothers or their family, and short of hiring a professional genealogist which I can not afford, are there any archives, or strategies I should be taking to find more information regarding my family.
