I'm a grandchild of Kaszian Viràg (1889-1978)from Erselind and was Frank Kaszian's sister. She told me often, that her little brother Feri (Frank Kaszian) who married with Magda Theresa, infortunatly Frank died in a train accident in US.

Josef BARTA - Clergyman Hungarian Reformed Church

Looking for descendants of my 3x grandfather JOSEF BARTA. He was clergyman at Monostor-Palyiban, Bihar, Hungary and signed church records between 1826 and 1862. He married Susanna CSETSI. Their children are: Lajos, Julianna, Theresia, Antal and Miklos. Miklos is my 2x grandfather who married Emilia HAMPEL. Children are Antal, Sandor and Joseph[Bartha].
Have information to share.

Iam one of the transcribers on a volunteer basis. I am sure there are many more. It's a colaborative effort by Ancestry.com and (USHMM) United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

A lot of new documentation from forced labour from Romania and the Romanian ocupied Ukraine will be published soon . They are in the the works of being transcribed.

Would you please help me with information on obtaining records/information on my relatives from Magyarkéc, Romania? (now Chet in Bihor county).

I'm requesting information on my grandfather, Sandor Kelemen, born Jan 11, 1891 in Magyarkéc. His father was Gabor Kelemen. Sandor had 3 brothers, Gabor, born Nov 9, 1885, Karoly, born May 28, 1896, Gedeon (no birth date), and Erzsébet (no birth date). nn

My understanding is his father, Gabor Kelemen, married Erzsébet Sipos, but this was a second marriage. I'm not certain if she was a parent to any of the children.

Birth Certificate in Bihor

I would like to find the birth certificate of my grandparents both issued in 1922.

The copy that I have is decomposing. I tried to request a copy via the Romanian Embassy but they said only alive person can request a birth certificate in the consulate.

My grandmother's (Balogh)was issued on 30 Dec 1922 comuna Silindru- Bihor. I guess it also states the place Comuna Silindru "Plasa Mihaifalau" Judetul Bihor (and all her information)

Anyways, My grandfather (Bali) birth certificate was issued on 7 Nov 1922 comuna Almas- Arad (I have his information there too, including the entry No.)

Also, I would like to find records of my grandparent's Romanian passports. It was issued somewhere between 1922 to 1925, but they are no longer alive so I cannot confirm the exact date. All of their old documents have been lost.

Any ideas where to find records of passports? Just the passport number and date of issuance would suffice.

Nina Suru is looking for relatives of her grandmother Florence (or Floare?) Yancu, from Bihor, who married John Suru from Salaj county and emigrated to Ohio about 1915. (John and Florence were their English names.) Florence was the daughter of Floare Vesa and Petru Yancu. John Suru was the son of Petru Suru and Floare Tulbure.

I'm helping a Holocaust survivor research the family of her father Arpad JUNGER. He was born in Margitta in Jan 1911 and died in Ukraine while serving in the Labor Battalion. Arpad's parents were Samuel JUNGER b. 1885, possibly in Halmosd, and Hermina BERKOVITS b. 1887, probably Bekescsaba. Arpad may have had a sister Hedwig. I have no other information about her. Arpad was married to Stefanie CAUZA,probably born in Wien, Austria, daughter of Edmund CAUZA and Marie AWECKER.

Kasyan Family from Erselind, Romania

Looking for information on the Kasyan / Kaszian / Kaszjan family that immigrated from Erselind, Bihor, Romania. My gr-gr-grandfather was Frank (sometimes listed as Peter) Kasyan. He died sometime around 1911. His wife Theresa Magda (1886-1973) came to McKeesport, Allegheny, Pennsylvania where she remarried a Michael Dirle (1883-1972). Her children from her first marriage immigrated to the US in 1922 - they were Peter (1905-1956), Margaret (1908-?) and Frank (1910-1990).

Possible relative of Frank was George Alex Kaszian, who came from Erselind in 1912 and settled in Medina, Ohio. He married Susie Balough and had children William, Virginia, Joh, Ernest, Irene, Eleanor, Florence, Margaret and Paul.

Another possible relative is Imre (Jim / James) Kaszian who immigrated from Bihar, Hungary around 1909 and settled in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio. He married Sarah -?- and had children Imre, Albert, Olga and Sarah.

Hi! Maybe I can help you, our family name is also Kajanto and we are living in Alesd. (Last days I searched for "Kajanto" and I found your letter here - I think it is nice to find somebody with the same name, maybe relatives! :))
I don't know very much about the family's history - I only know that my father in law (Pal Kajanto) was reformed priest in Alesd (he died half year ago), and her wife was Maria Kajanto. My husband says that the aunt of his father (Pal Kajanto) was also Agnes Toth.
If you would like to know more, please try to write us more informations and we shall ask some "old relatives" of us, who remember everything! :)

I am searching for Kajanto family history also. I live in Australia and have only a few relatives here. All I know is they originated from Romania. I know my pa's mother remarried a caroly Debreczeni because his father past away when my pa was 14 years of age. I´ve been told by my grandmother that they were from oradea (lazlo Stern and his mother giselle) and from Tlagdt (this could be either the hungarian or the romanian name of the village). The came to Argentina after the 2nd world war and I´m trying to know more about their origins.

My friend's grand parents were born in Romania. Grandfather, Todor Rob (Tiedor Rob) was born in Talpos and came to USA 7/1913. He married Maria Pop Antal who was born in Petulusa (Izvoarele). Maria was married in Romania to ---Antal. They had a son, Stefon Antal who was born in 1909. His father died and he was left with family in the Petulusa area when Maria came to the USA. Stefon Antol maried and had 2 children, Maria and Stefon, who were last know living in Marghita.
Maria Pop Antal Rob married Todor Rob and had three more sons, Tony(1918), Petre, and George(1923). My friend, Theodore (Ted) Robu, is the first son of Tony and is searching for his cousins, Maria and Stefon. If anyone has any knowledge of these people, please contact him at Robu@robsoncom.net
He plans on visiting Marghita in August and hope to meet with them.

CHARLES M HAMULA, born 03 Dec 1908, died 17 Jul 1996 was younger brother to Ambrose Hamula, my grandfather. There were 2 other brothers, Alexander and John. Father was Ambrose Hamula, born 1874 and died in 1936 in Cleveland.

I've seen information on another Charles, born around the same time, and living in the same area, but with a different middle name. I'm not sure of any relation. But if Charles M was your father, we are probably cousins somehow.
