Very very interesting. My great-grandfather (Anton PFAU) was from Pancota (Pankota) and my great-grandmother (Eva PLENNERT) was from Neupanat. They met and married in Oregon.

There were quite a number of the Germans from the BANAT region that settled in Marion County Oregon. I'm not sure why they came there or who came first at this point. It is a point of strong interest to me, if only I had time to follow it up! <Grin>
