Classification: Query
Surnames: Lampros, Lampropoulis, Papayaki, Papayorgi, Papageorge
I'm having trouble researching my Greek ancestry, as I speak no Greek and my family hasn't been that helpful (for example, Q:"Do you know your great-grandfather's name?" A:"His name was Nick something")
Here's the info I have:
George Lampros (or Lampropoulis) b. 1874 in Psira (or Psiri), Greece m. Aphrodite Papayaki (or Papayorgi or Papageorge) from Shidna, Greece b. 1895
Both villages are near Megalopigia in the Spartan Peninsula.
George came to US in 1900, Aphrodite in 1913 or 1915.
Any information would be appreciated. I'm stumped!
Thanks,
Sharon
