Classification: Query
Surnames: Megalogenis, Andreadou, Andriatis, Kalemaci, Kalamiki
I am searching for any information I can find on the Megalogenis family for Greece.

This is all I have at this time:
Demitrios "James" Megalogenis was born in Cephalonia Greece about 1862. He married Samaragdi "Marjory or Mary" Andriate/Andreadis (not sure of the spelling of her surname. But she was the daughter of Capt. George Andredou/Andriate/Andreadis ? and his wife Helen Kalemacia

I was told this family had sons and they may still be in Greece.

Now the Megalogenis family left Greece about 1904 and arrived in America at Ellis Island, New York. James Megalogenis arrived before his wife and children to get a job and place for his family to live. I know he may have had two brothers at least. I find a Danagie Megalogenis came to visit him 30 June 1904 and another brother whos name began with a "P" who was not allowed to stay....sent back to Greece because he was ill.

Samaragdi arrived 3 June 1907 onboard the Sycilian Prince. She was 40 years old at this time and with her were:
Elena age 10 years daughter:born before 1897, Greece
Issidoro age 9 son: born 18 April 1897 Chios Grece
Maria age 8 daughter: born 21 Jan 1898, Greece
Georgio age 6 son: born 14 July 1900, Greece
John age 4 Son: born 15 Jan 1902, Greece

Some time after the death of his father and before the death of his mother....John was sent back to Greece with his brother George accompanying him. This was between 1940 and 1943
Demitrios Megalogenis died in Northfield Vermont 6 Oct 1940 and is buried at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Keene, Cheshire, New Hampshire USA
His wife Samaragdi (Andriathe?) Megalogenis died 20 Aug 1943 in Keene, Cheshire, New Hampshire and is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery with her husband.

I was told that Samargdi's father Capt. George Andrathe(? spelling unknown) was a sea captain and died at sea. Soon after his death, his wife Helen died.....prob. of a broken heart.
The children were raised by their grandparents.

If anyone has any information on any of these family line or if any of this sounds familiar to you....please conntact me.
Respectfully Yours,
Angie
