Gani family

I am looking for information on the origins of the name Gani and any possible contacts. My grandfather was Hananel Gani and he was born in Arta, Epirus, Greece around 1883. He had several siblings, but I know nothing about his parents or any of the previous generations. He was married to Regina Negrin from Ioannina and they both moved to Egypt around 1900, where all their children were born. Regina died in 1944-45 in Egypt and Hananel died in Athens in 1975-76

Do you know more than that? Your grandparents were much younger than mine....do you know when they left Egypt? What was your grandmother's maiden name?

There were other Gani families in Egypt, and other Gani families in Greece. Do you know where in Greece your parents came from?

Hi. I know it has been a long time since your posts but I have recently learned of a brach of the family in Egypt. My great great uncle migrated to Egypt from Ionnana. HIs brother's name was Abraham Ganis. It was around the early 1900s.
