The records show that Antonio Matesan boarded the SS Georgia on 27 June 1905 from Trieste via Patras, and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on 19 July 1905. It was actually my grandfather, Fabian Matesan, that was on the ship; he had used his brother's passport/papers.
According to the records, his place of origin was: Sinj, Dalmatia, Austria.
Here are the names that I know; though the spelling may be incorrect or Americanized: Surname: Matesan or Mateson
Father's Name: Ivan; other possible family given names inlcude: Frank, Antonio, Fancis or Francine, Josephine.
My grandfather, Fabian Matesan spoke a few languages, which may have been common for people of the region, I just don't know. My father said they were raised catholic, but I don't know if that was attributed to my grandmother, grandfather or both.
Any help on tracking any information, or sources of information would be greatly appreciated.
