I am looking for my grandfather's family in the former Yugoslavia. Please help me find my relatives! :0)
Unfortunately, my maternal grandfather did not talk about his family so I do not have the names of his brothers and sisters.
I found his sister's name from a letter he had kept which we found after he had passed away. My grandmother has very little information to give me as they were separated and divorced 6 years after marriage.
Obrad Glumac stayed in Canada 10 years or so and returned to Yugoslavia in 1940 something.
My Great-grandfather.....O'Brad Glumac from Lipovo Polje.
My Great-grandmother...Marica Glumac (nee Glumac) from Lipovo Polje.
My Grandfather............Mile Glumac (May 19, 1920-December 14,1989) from Lipovo Polje.
My Great Aunt............Boje Koruga (nee Glumac) from Lipovo Polje.
Mile Glumac came to Port Alberni, British Columbia, CANADA in 1936 when he was 16 years old.
His father, O'brad Glumac, came to CANADA a few years earlier. He stayed in British Columbia until my Grandfather was engaged in 1945 and returned to Lipovo Polje that year.
Mile Glumac married my Grandmother, Lillian Chapman, in 1946 when he was 26 years old.
They had 3 Children; Beverley, Susan, and Robert; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
I believe my Great Aunt was married BEFORE 1948. Her maiden name is Glumac. Her married name is Koruga. Her name is Boje Koruga and the last letter we have is from her residence in Gakovo in the 1960s.
