Plavsic and Maros Surnames

Please, I need any information on either of the above surnames. My grandfather, Steve (Stefan?)Plavsic, an ethnic Serb was born ca. 1880. He emigrated to U.S.A. ca. 1910 and lived and worked in Barberton, Ohio. He had one brother, Bosco known as Robert or Bob, who lived there as well until his death in the 1960s. Steve died suddenly of a heart attack in 1918.

I understand that the name "Plavsic" may have something to do with the color blue, or water or swimming.

His wife was Marya Maros or , an ethnic Hungarian, born in the 1880s. She followed her husband to the U.S. She died in the late 1930s in Barberton. They had two daughters: my late aunt Zora, known as Zoe,, born 1915, died 1952-3; and my mother, Helen(a)Irma, born Feb. 2, 1917, died October 1995.

I understand there is a river near the Hungarian-Bosnian border of the name Maros.

There may have been some Maroz relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins )who settled in Cleveland, Ohio. I remember visiting them once as a small boy in the late 1940s but do not know any names or precise family relationships.

I would appreciate any help. Please contact me by return e-mail.
