Am having similar problems with my Czebotar search. My Czebotar's came from the Grodno area also. Could possibly be a connection. I have a Teofila (Mary in USA)Czebotar married Jacob Buinitzky (or Bujnicki or Buiniski or Buinicki, Etc.) came to Pennsylvannia, returned to Russia, and then came to Eastern New York State. Found a Casimir Czebota from Grodno who immigrated in 1898. Also have a Marjanny Czabotarow (Czebotar here) who married an Adolfo Kizielewicz in Archdiocese of Grodrienski, Bialostockie in Poland/Russia. Hard to find information since it is now Belarus and I don't think much is out there. I haven't found much anyway.
