I wonder if the Traña family you mention is from Jinotepe? My Briceño family from Diriamba owes its origins to a Crisanto Briceño from Rivas born c1825/35. I have not been able to trace him further as most of the parish records have been destroyed. I do know of a separate Briceño family in Jinotepe but there does not seem to be any connection. Through Crisanto's only surviving son Crisanto descend all of the Briceño family of Diriamba. Your mention of Rivas as a possible origin for is noteworthy. I have mention of different Briceños living in Jinotepe related to the Parrales families during the late 1700's. Hope this is of use.
*There is a family tradition giving the origin of the family in Venezuela, but I have examined the two books related to the B family of Venezuela and could not find any link. There was a Briceño family in the port of El Realejo from the late 1500's but I have not been able to establish any connection with our Briceño family.
