Surnames: KOLESAR/KORITKO/STRUTKO
I have posted a message on the Slovak-Roots site and had contacts with folks with same names of KORITKO and KOLESAR but may have to try archives in Slovakia as to the parents of John Michael Koritko Sr. b 22 Feb 1881 in Hungary,(then Slovakia) and died 17 March 1920 in Kingston, PA. I am also in a quandry as to Szusanna Koritko b. abt.1899 in Zemplin and brought to the U.S. on 6 Nov.1907 by Anna Kolesar, age 19,(1888-1963) and newly wed to John Michael Koritko Sr. On the ship's manifest someone had written over Szusanna's name the word "stepchild" so I am assuming that she was the daugther of Anna's husband and that he had a first wife. This child was eight years old at the time. It would be nice to find the name of her mother. There is no record of her on any of the US census reports but I think she is the same Susan who married a STRUKO, possibly Michael. Anna and her husband,John, apparently moved in with the Struko (STRUT) family and their seven children when they first arrived in the US, John coming later on than 1907. This Szusanna may have returned to Slovakia before the 1910 census or have been placed with other relatives such as Anna's parents, Andrew and Ylona (Ilona) Kolesar. Any and all clues, leads or info will be great appreciated. For personal contact, email me at fly41away@yahoo.com
