Question about notation in 19th century record from Zemplen

I am researching my family which was from Modra nad Cirochou in eastern Slovakia. The 19th century records are in Hungarian (Modra n. C. was part of Zemplen County at that time). There is a particular notation that is vexing me.

Recall that the Hungarian records put the last name first. Some of the records for my great-grandfather have the following notations:
"Chvostaly /:Sivcso:/ Gyorgy."

All of the birth records for Gyorgy's children have the name "Sivcso."

So, was Gyorgy a son of one Chvostaly who was then adopted by one Sivcso, or was he the son of one Sivcso who was adopted by Chvostaly? Does anyone have a an answer about what this odd notation means?
