We are looking for information on John Louis Magicz/Magic and his wife Katherine (Perzel) Magic/Magicz. We know they came to this country between 1902 and 1910 with their son, John Magicz Jr. The surname was shown as Magicz in early censuses and on John L. Magicz' social security death certificate, but was listed as Magic on other documents and for all other family members descended from this couple. They were listed as arriving from Czechoslovakia, but we assume they were from present day Slovakia since they attended the Holy Rosary Slovak Church in Chicago.

John L. Magicz/Magic was born on 13 Dec 1879 somewhere in Slovakia. His father was listed as Louis Magic on his death certificate. His mother's name is likely incorrect on his death certificate from 1969(which lists his wife's name as his mother's by mistake).

His wife, Katherine, was born sometime in 1884 in Slovakia and her maiden name is listed as Perzel or Perzly on some documents. They were married before immigrating to the US because their son John Jr. was born in Slovakia. We just found out her death date (1962 in Chicago) and are trying to get her death certificate to see if it lists any parents' names or a more specific birth place.

This is all the information we have. Any information would be greatly appreciated. They were Roman Catholic in the US, so we are guessing they were married in a Catholic Church somewhere in Slovakia around 1900, but this is just a guess.
