Napoleonic Marriage Translation Help - 1844 Gojsk

Attached is a marriage records from 1844. Could someone please confirm that the parents (Stanislaus Strus & Jadwiga Zgelnicki) of the woman being married (Marianna), are alive at the time of the marriage? I don’t see the word deceased relative to the parents’ names. Also it states that Marianna born in Turzy. I know Stanislaus was in Turza Wilcza, would Turzy be another form of this, or a separate village?

Supposed Polish surname of Walfawhn

The name Walfawhn appears as a surname in the 1861 Census for London, stating that the person is of Polish extraction.

As far as I can tell, there is no such name in Poland, and its probably been "lost in translation" by the enumerator.

My question is, does anyone know what this name might really be ?

I have recently learned that my relatives from Savannah, GA were originally from Volozhin. The surname is Dolgoff and there is one that adapted Dolgow. There were three sisters and a brother that came and settled in Savannah. The sisters' names were Hannah/Chanah, Reisel and Bessie. There was a brother but I do not know what his name was. I also know that there were other relatives named Yosha who was married to another Hannah and they had a child, Shael/Saul. And there was a Max Dolgoff as well. Help me find Ryszard Antczak

My great grandmother Jadwiga (who is still living) came to this country in 1930, and when she left with her brother she still had two sisters still living in Paczuski, Poland, Marja and Regina Pawlikowski.

Marja was born in 1907 and married some with the last name Antczak. They had a son named Ryszard/Richard Antczak in the 1930s. The last time my family corresponded with Marja was in 1998, she was 91, now she would be 101, so it is highly unlikely that she is still living. Her last address was:

I am trying to get in contact with her son Ryszard Antczak, but have no way of knowing how to do that. Does anyone know how? Regina would be 90 this year so it is possible that she is still alive as well.

I am looking for information about Simeon Dohoda aka Samuel Dahoda. Also Olena/Helena Haszczyc. One or both are from Galicia area. They both left their homes and emigrated to the USA. They both lived in Cohoes, NY. I am not sure if they knew each other before coming to Cohoes, NY.

They belonged to St. Nicholas Church - it is an Orthodox Church.

Looking for more information for the Stern Family:

Froim Stern, b. abt 1888 wife's name, Anna Gallar, b. abt 1888. The family lived in NY (Brooklyn, Kings County) and probably died there. They had one son that I know of Benjamin Stern, b. 11 Jul 1923 in NY (Still alive). They may of came over from Poland.

I did find a Froim Stern who died in Apr 1977 in Brooklyn, NY, but don't know for sure if he's the one that's related to Benjamin Stern.

Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated :)

Would anyone know what Froim means in the English language?? I'm thinking he might of changed his first name??

Hello,
Sometime ago or family discovered that we have ancestors buried in St. Trinitiatis Church/Cemetery in Staniewo, Kozmin, Poznan, Poland, the family surname is Owsianny.
I was wondering if there is someone out there that might know of an address that I could write to, in order to obtain some information on our ancestors who are buried at that Church/Cemetery?
I also have ancestors who are buried at a cemetery in Kaniewo, Wielowies Parish, Poznan, Poland, I know that Kaniewo is very close to Staniewo, however I do not know the name of the cemetery where these other ancestors are buried. If anyone would know the name of that cemetery in Kaniewo and have an address for that cemetery, I would appreciate that information also!

My Great Grandmother emigrated to the U.S. on April 6th, 1912. The Ellis Island certificate lists that she was 16 years old at the time. She was born November 25th, 1895 and died in September of 1977 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It shows last residence as Wilcza, Austria and Ethnicity as Austria, Polish. I am looking for anything on the family she had in Austria. No one else in my family has any information beyond my great grandmother. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for anyone related to my great-grandfather Piotr Olszewski. I know that his father's name was August Olszewski and his mother's name was Eva Soblinska.

Piotr was born on 29 Jun 1883 and immigrated to the United States on Dec. 4, 1906 where he lived in Detroit, Mich until he died on 27 Aug 1958.

According to his Naturalization Papers, his previous residence was in Krubin, Poland. My mother remembers her grandfather sending boxes of clothes home to his family in the 40's. She said she did remember it was addressed to Poland but unfortunately no one seems to have my great-grandfather's information.

Would really like to find out if he had any brothers or sisters and if there are any cousins out there.

Help! I need to find my grandpa's place of origin in Poland (or any of its original provinces) and exact parents' names. I know when my grandfather arrived from Poland, what his original name was, DOB, and his life here. Originally - Chester Kuszynski, arr. fall of 1901, to Chicago. The 1920 Census varifies 1901.
I have searched every possible variation of spelling and "sounds like" via Ellis Island the past few weeks. No one like that! I've even looked at others' passenger lists indepth to see if a 10-yr-old was aboard but didn't make it into the Ellis database. -time consuming, futile so far

Anton Kasieta enlisted in the "Polish Army For France" in February 1918. He enlisted at Stevens Point,Wisconsin,United States. On his enlistment papers there is mention of: Mary or Mary anna or ann (Kasieta) Hellu being in poland. It also notes: Lomza, Glsczyn, Grabawo, Russo Poland.

I have searched the Ellisisland.org website and come up with a close match of Anton Kascheta who reportedly came to the united states via New York in 1909, but there is no supporting documentation to indicate this is the same person.

Gration H. ZABROCKI, the son of John and Frances Zabrocki, born 18 December 1879 in Poland.

He immigrated to America with his parents when he was 6 years old, settling in Winona, Minnesota where he grew to manhood. At age 18 yrs he came to the Leo community, north of Greenbush, MN.

On 16 february 1903, he married Pelagia STANISLAWSKI, born 11 March 1883 to Joseph and Augustana STANISLAWSKI at Winona, MN.

Gration was engaged in farming and as a traveling salesman for the W. T. Rawleigh Company for many years.

The Zabrocki's were members of St Aloysius Catholic Church at Leo, MN. After moving to Greenbush, they attended services at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

They were the parents of nine children:

Just recently I was able to find five birth records in a Roman Catholic Parish record listing her as the mother, but her name was Anna Zurek, and only her mother's name (Agnete Zurek) was listed where they listed her parents. The name was the same on the marriage record I found for her. I also managed to find her birth record. This listed her father and mother (same name for the mother), but her father's name was Michael Kupiec. She is listed as legitimate. This has me very confused. Which name should I have listed as primary?

Im looking for relatives to my great grandmother who was born in Willenburg, Marienburg, Poland acording to her German passport.

She was born the 5th of June 1906 and got married to Bernhard Michael Jezewski from Gdansk.

They got a daughter Margot Christa the 25th of december 1927.

Between 1927 and 1939 they changed their lastname Jezewski into Jensen.

Their daughter Margot fled to Denmark while they fled to Germany.

Margarethe died 1st of February 1994 in Hamburg. Bernhard died earlier (1984) but also in Hamburg.

I got loads of pictures but only a few contains names and when they do its of cause only their first names so not really ahelp in finding ancestors/relatives.

Hope someone can help with finding the names of parents ect.

My grandfather Kazimierz Sprenglewski had a younger brother who was captured by the soviet army. We think he was taken to Siberia to one of the camps there. However we do not know his name. But we do know he escaped or prehaps released and tried to make his way home to Poland. We only have a photography, which i understand is not alot to work with. My G Grandfathers immigration record say he came fromt he town of Sumsk, Russia in 1913, his wife's address is listed as Sumsk, Plock.

They were ethnic poles who, according to my grandma. live in what is now Poland. I found Sumsk in Russia, nowhere near the city of Plock and not part of Poland.

Is there a small town near Plock called Sumsk??? I have also seen it as Szmsk

My G grandmother came over later and lists a town called Dsiezgowa.

Can anyone point me in the direction of where these place are today?

Four sons of John Trzcinski and Mary Kowalski (John, Joseph, Marion, and Frank) came to the US from Poland in 1903. From the 1916 birth certificate and 1919 US Army discharge records, they were born in Cetlin, Plocki. The naturalization papers state that they were "subjects of Russia". Does anyone know where Cetlin, Plocki is? Does anyone know which parts of Poland were under Russian control circa World War I?

The immigration record out of Bremen, Germany spelled it:
1) for the mother and children as Bogolesski (the "ss" was written as the German character Esset)

and then at a later date:
2) for the father as Bogolowski

An Unknown given name BINENBOIM, was born in 1898 to Shlomo and Shifra in Osoba (Osova or Osowa), Sarny, Wolyn, Poland. He perished in the Shoah in Kostopol, Kostopol, Wolyn, Poland (which is today Kostopil, Ukraine).

This was reported in a Page of Testimony (POT) in Yad Vashem on April 27, 1999 by his cousin (once removed) Feiga Itzkhak (Bat Yitzkhak).
