My GGGFA's name was Michael, his father's name was Albert. He was born in 1860. his last name was Pikoski, probably not spelled the same. He came to America in 1874. He was a cobbler. He was such a wonderful man, well loved. I would love to find out more about his family. I know that he loved and kept rabbits and when he lived in Akron, Ohio he was known as Mr. Rabbit or Zajac.I know that His wife Sophia Marszalek, grew up near Tarnow, and herded goats. Her mother Anna remarried John Zych, John was about 10 years younger. Anna and John came to America with Sophia, Agatha and Rosa Marszalek. Sophia met Michael in America, but I understood that they were both from Galacia. The only documents that had him name spelled. , were American documents. US Census, ect. Neither of them could read or write, so as for the spelling?? Your guess is a good as mine??
The one thing that would set these people apart is that John Zych, was probably not a very nice man. Sadly, He was accused of beating Anna so badly her heart failed, then within the year married her daughter Rosa, full of scandal and suspicion. Maybe they left Poland for some scandalous reason.
