I'm researching a relative of mine, Carl F Rödeler of either a city called Chemburg (not exactly sure where it is), or Wrocław, Poland. His son, when arriving in the US through New York listed his city of residence as Wrocław. Carl on the other hand, when arriving through New Orleans, listed his city of origin as Chemburg, which, unless I have missed something, is not a real city (?). I tried to look up alternative names, and names of cities years ago, but unfortunately, feel like I have hit a dead end. In truth, all I am certain about is that they were born in Prussia, left a sister and mother behind, and were most likely of middle or upper class. If any has any information about Carl, the Rödeler surname/ family, or any of these cities, please be sure to reply!
