I am posting this same topic under Poland, Austria and Ukraine as their decendant's documents show all three locations depending on what time in history they came from.
I have names for my husband's great grand parents but nothing further. They are all from Ukraine. I do know that the border changed from time to time depending on politics and wars. They have also listed Austria and Poland as their home countries depending on the year of the documents they had to fill out.
This is all I know:
Ivan Szalko born in 1871 married Anna Zilisko
Theodore Macewko (1845-1934)was married to Anna Zelisko (1847-1931)
John Blidy was married to Mary Pithaniek (1860- )
Emil Juzkow was married to Katherine Grzadziel
We do not believe any of these people immigrated from Ukraine.
Does anyone have a recommendation as to how best find Ukranian genealogical records? I would love to find birth certificates, marriage license and anything further on them or the rest of their family. We do know that there is still family in Ukraine but we have no way to know how to contact them.
