I am researching my Zdeb family tree. My family came from a village near Kielce - I believe the name of the village was Malogoszcz and the district was Jedrzejow. My grandfather's father was Simon Zdeb and he married a Veronika Budzynka (Budzyn) and they had four children - Marian, Mieczyslaw, Antoni and Sofia. I have only recently found out that Simon Zdeb's father was a lawyer in Vienna, Austria and came to Poland to set up a business. He bought a lot of land but was unsuccessful in a wood business. We believe he married a Polish lady and had at least two children but he hated Poland and went back to Austria leaving his wife and children behind. We do not know his name, nor many other details. We do not know if the Zdeb name is Austrian, Polish or a variant of some other name. If anyone knows anything about the surname Zdeb (eg meaning or nationality), or any information about Budzyn, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
