Jewish history in Suwalki Poland

My name is Jon Reitan. I am a historian working at Falstad Memorial and Human Rights Centre in Levanger, Norway (www.falstadsenteret.no). I am currently writing a book about the world`s northernmost Jewish community, situated in
Trondheim Norway. Most of the forefathers of this community immigrated to Trondheim Norway from the district of Suwalki in the late 1880s and 1890s, especially the towns of Suwalki, Razcki, Rajgrod, Filipow and Baklerow. The book will be published celebrating the 100 year anniversary of this community in 2005.

I will visit the district of Suwalki in mid-June. I would be very grateful if anyone had the time and opportunity to give me some advice on the following:
1) Would the city/towns of Suwalki, Raczki, Rajgrod, Baklerow or Filipow have a museum where Jewish history in these places is documented? If they exist, would it be able to get a contact per internet/e-mail or fax?
2) Are there any traces left of Jewish history in the district of Suwalki today (for instance cemeteries, buildings, synagogues etc.)?

I would be very thankful if You could help me on this matter, alternatively help me to find any contacts regarding this subject?

In beforehand: Thank you very much for your help, and kind regards from Norway!
