Hi Mary -

My g-g-grandmother, Marjanna Kotarska b. 1857, married Andrzej Gutowski b. 1850. Andrzej was born in Topilowka. I have their marriage record (in Russian/cyrllic) from 1875 in the Janowka parish records. The record shows that Maryanna's parents were Kazimierz Kotarski and Agnieszka Klimaszewska.

I do know that another Kazimir Kotarski b. 1874, suspected from the Augustow area, immigrated to the Detroit, MI area in 1895. That family is in the 1920s census records, and had at least three children, Marie, Kazimir, and Bernard S. b. 1906. Bernard was my grandfather's (Fred Gutowski's) best man in their wedding in Jackson, MI and I've been told they were "cousins". I'd like to connect my Kotarski line back to some of the present-day Kotarski's that appear to still be around in the Augustow area...
