Thank you for your reply. Kate Krzysiak was my great grandmother. I found her name on death certificates, and I have no further information on her Krzysiak family. I found some possible relatives through research, but I have not made a definite connection.

My grandfather, James Szymusiak, came to Chicago to where my grandmother lived, and they went to PA to get married. After his death at age 23, my grandmother returned to Chicago with her baby (my mother).

I had been told that there was a family connection to Michael Kowalski, the undertaker, in Chicago. I don't know how he may have been related.

I'll let you know if and when I find more information.
