Helene -

Sorry for the duplicate reply. The board showed it didn't go through, so I rewrote the reply!

I also found out another piece of information. My grandmother, Jozefa (Josephine) Krzysiak came over from Dobczyce, Poland on a ship with Jedrzej Kowalski who was the brother of Jan (John) Kowalski. My grandmother was going over to stay with her brother, Piotr (Peter) Krzysiak.

Don't know if any of that helps you or not.

ALSO - I found your gr. grandmother on the Ellis Island website and it says the name of her mother -- so your gr gr grandmother's name is there. Have you seen this info?

Katarza (Kate) Krzysiak came over from Ciche, Austria (was Austria - and later was Poland)on June 30, 1909. She was 18 years old making her birthdate around 1891. Her ship, the "Oceanic" left Antwerp port to come to the US. She was heading to Chicago. Looks like she was coming to stay with a cousin (?) Waswika(?) Krupa. Says that her mother back in Ciche, Poland was something like Mary (?) Krzysiak. It is hard to read but you can try to go to the website and see if it is easier for you to read it. Put in "Krzysiak" in the family name and you will see her on the list. Says she was 5'2 1/2" tall, brown hair and gray eyes.

Anyway... hope that helps! Hope you see this if you haven't already!
