I noticed your reference to Uniontown,PA,and Chicago. I have a friend whose family also came from the Nowy Targ area of Poland, (in fact he has an ancestor in his tree with my maiden name, (FUDALA,) but, I believe that some of his ancestors also settled in the Uniontown, PA area, when they came to the U.S. from Poland. His name is Jess Piszczor, jpiszczor@gmail.com and he even has his tree on a website, with a lot of info about that area of Poland, as well as pictures. Maybe he can be of help. I don't know if he's obtained records from Poland or not, but it's worth asking.
Re: Chicago, my grandparents settled in Chicago, when they came to the U.S. I've found them on the 1900 and 1910 census in Chicago, as well as many Chicago church records through the LDS libraries, and PGSA.org
