Hello Matt: I have been reading your queries about surnames in Poland. Thought I'd let you know that I'm trying to research my grandfathers' line whose last name is Opiol. He was born in Limanowa, now Malopolska. He married Mary Dlugopolska in USA. Her mother's name is Magdalena Pawlikowska. As you see, I have several names in my line that relate to your research. I need help too in finding my grandfather's father's name. Also their village church in Malopolska would be very helpful for possible records there. Would appreciate hearing from you regarding this research. I have been trying to locate immigration records on my grandfather Opiol. Wondering if Opiol is deriviative of Opiolowski? Any suggestions toward researching this line is appreciated. Thank you and good luck in your research.
