Kate, - I’m sorry but the books by Jozef Bubak that I got copies of are limited to the history of surnames in the district of Nowy Targ in Southern Poland and don’t cover Ostrusza, Gawluszowice, and Borowa.
I have found some limited information online on Ostrusza and Gawluszowice and a link to a Borowa website at
http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/Kolbuszowa/Radomysl%20wi...that you may want to check out.
'Ostrusza is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ciężkowice, within Tarnów County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south-east of Ciężkowice, 28 km (17 mi) south of Tarnów, and 84 km (52 mi) east of the regional capital Kraków.'
'Gawłuszowice is a village in Mielec County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in south-eastern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Gawłuszowice. It lies approximately 16 kilometres (10 mi) north of Mielec and 62 km (39 mi) north-west of the regional capital Rzeszów.'
