I would like to find out how to access birth and marriage records for Nowa Sol, Poland (Neusalz, German Empire) for the 1800s. My gr-grandfather, Reinhold Johan Wagner was born there in 1822 and married Henrietta Louise Dillman (Diehlmann?) before 1857. The family immigrated to New York in 1869. I hope that someone can help me with this - any clue would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Bronwyn - Thank you for your further info. I have looked at the websites you recommended and will be following up on them. I looked in further detail at the other reply that was in German (I think it's German) and I now think that it is a copy of a reply to someone else's query. So thanks for your offer, but I don't want to take up your time. Meanwhile I will be visiting my local LDS center after we return from a short trip south.
