The only thing that I know for sure is that his father's name was Albert Schmaltz. Though there is a story how Albert changed the last name to Smaltz and Julius changed it back to Schmaltz.
Any other suggestions on how to get information from Germany? I have several people from over there and I can't seem to get any where on any of them.
