My great-grandmother Annamaria Schmidt was born in Bonyhadvarasd (then called simply Varasd, or Warasch in German) in 1888. She came to Milwaukee in 1912 with her first husband, Martin Wirth of Zomba. She also had two brothers who had come over a few years earlier (Joe and "Tony", although I think he was actually Thomas, and the nickname was "TOMY" rather than "Tony"). For most of her life in Milwaukee, she was known as Mary Bommersbach (her third husband was Joe Bommersbach, and her second husband, my great-grandfather, was Lukas Kotes).

I'm curious to know if there is anyone else out there with ancestry in Bonyhadvarasd. Among the surnames that I've run across and have in my file are Putschli, Lehmann, Marx, Eibeck, Schlereth, Pereth, Ziener, Gith and Hammer. Other names the show up are Patton, Plesz, Feuerstahler, Löts (possibly the Lotz mentioned in earlier posts?), Frei, Szehi and several others. I have done some research with the church records but would certainly be interested in contacting anyone else who is looking at the area.
