MOUNT LAUREL -- Helen Jenei, 92, passed away Monday in Sunrise Assisted Living in Mount Laurel.
Born in Vizsoly, Hungary, on May 10, 1913, Mrs. Jenei came to the United States as a child in 1914, moved to Trenton in 1930, and relocated to South Jersey in 1987.
She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Trenton. She was a fabulous Hungarian cook who loved to cook for her family and friends, and spend time with them, which was most important to her.
Wife of the late John Jenei and sister of the late Thomas, William, Ernest, Helen, and Irene, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald J. and Anne Jenei of Sunset Beach, NC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Norman Hortman of San Diego, CA and Sharane L. and Jeffrey Bodnar of Delran; six grandchildren, Dr. R. Jonathan Jenei and his wife Susan, R. Jeffrey Jenei and his wife Jennifer, Kim Buhler and her husband Alan, Norman Hortman and his wife Jennifer, and Jason and Brian Bodnar; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Ave., Trenton.
Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
