I have been looking at some old posts on this name on this board and have a question myself . I have some ancestors of this name from Secovce , Is there any reason that a person named POLERECKY from this area would speak German? My greatgrandmother was named KOLESAR from Secovce, her mother was a POLERECKY , my father told me that his grandmothers Kolesar, had either a mother or grandmother that was German. Also another relative told me that she , the granmother, Kolesar, spoke Schwab, I see no names in that family that I recognize as German. The names I have so far in that line are KOLESAR , POLERECKY, SZERVOTSKI. JURCSIS and further back HRESKO and BEDNAR. Can any one help me out ? Thanks
