A lot of new things regarding my father Hersh Unger! More about his life and escape from Bialystok on "Red Friday", survival of Auswitz and final liberation by the Russians in Germany. I confirmed his birth place as Makov-Mazowiecki (not Makow) and that his father Fischel was from 10 miles south in Pultusk. This would support your mention that the admiral's wife (Fischel's sister) was from Pultusk.

wow-how proud you must be of your heritage. do you have your father listed in the dc hal.museum and in his story in yad vashem for posterity ? You must be relatedto adm.r on maternal side -at last a real relative besides the one i called in states on paternalside. keep up the good work -i can't imagine all the work it took to find that info.

I don't think I have informtion about Nagy but I do have information aqbout Stephen Sandtner and Julia. I believe they lived in Sankt Anna in Hungary. In 1945 the Russians did come to the Hungarian villages of the Banat and abducted able bodied men and women to work in the Salt Mines of Russia. Many did not return. Hope your e-mail address is still working. Susan

Surnames: Sandtner
Hi there, we are Mike & Carolyn Kubanek we have been working with Susan for some time. She helped us trace the Sandtner family we have within our family back to Kasper in 1795. Our connection is Ed Sandtner, the brother of Lilliane
Sandtner who Married your Orville Means. If you would like access to my Heinze tree let me know, it it a Pirvate site right now. Ed Sandtner is still living, his wife a Marian Heinze just passed and we went to St Petersburg Florida for the Viewing. We are trying to find record for Lilliane, llike where is she burried? Where and when did Orville Pass? Where is he burried?

If you can help holler.

Surnames: Nagy, Sandtner
Good afternoon! My grandfather was Stephen J. Sandtner, who passed away this past year at age 102. He had relocated from Washington State a few years ago to Missoula, Montana. His ancestry is Nagy and I believe Ed Sandtner was either my grandfathers brother or nephew. Just thought I would add a little to the equation. Stephen Jack Sandtner was a successful chemist and invented the formula for the first instant pudding!!

Hope this helps -- Renee Gaylor, Palmetto, Florida
