I'm looking for any information on the surname Horkavi. The last information I have is my great grandparents, John and Meri Horkavi. John Horkavi was born on Oct 14, 1884. I believe he was born in Hungary according to census records. But uncertain family members also say Slovakia. I'm really unsure. They settled in Gary, (Lake County) Indiana. I believe Meri's maiden name may be Laczko or some variation of it. I've searched the internet and cannot find much of anything on this surname. There are several Horkavis buried in Calumet Park cemetary, but not sure how and if they are related. Are there any geneology sites which may provide some more information?
