My great-Grandfather Lajos (Louis) Kern was born in 1883 in Futak, Hungary (now Futog, Serbia) He married a French lady named Suzanne Rennesson (I believe in Budapest, around 1909). He joined the French Foreign Legion in 1914 and was posted in Morocco (he never became a French citizen). I have been told that his first language was German and he may be related to the some Kern line in Germany. Any help on where to look for info on birth/marriage/military records would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
