I have recently discovered my Kiedrowski's residing in the 1840's near Wabrzezno and Chelmza area's in the little towns of Nowa Wies (Koniglich, Krolewska, Wieldzadz, Lipienek, Mgowo, and in that general area. It seems that Joseph Kiedrowski (the ancestor) might have followed his wife's, Rosalia Kurkierewicz's, family to the area. I am trying to find out where they may have migrated from. Does anyone know of any Kiedrowski's who may have lived near this area around 1840 or for that matter the location from which a large number of Kiedrowskis may be found?
Just a little about the family. Joseph- a tailor- and Rosalia had four children. The last three were born in Nowa Wies (Koniglich) from 1844 to 1851. Their names were Mattheaus, Catarina, and Johann. I have been unable to discover the locality of their marriage or where their first son August was born.
Mattheaus and Johan both immigrated to the United States. Mattheaus in Slupp married Catharina Chobrowski. They had three children born there- Marianna, Frank, and Tomas and a fourth child, Elizabeth, born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Johann married a Rose Hinz somewhere in West Prussia. They had two children born there, Paul and Joseph and two more born in Pittsburgh, John Joseph and Elizabeth. Johann changed his name to John Keider and died in Pittsburgh in 1905.
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Nita Keider
