I am searching for the parents of William von Stein who died in Schubin, Prussia in 1876. He was a mason and was a political prisoner at Gradentz at one time. Who was his wife? He had one daughter with red hair who married a Russian general. He also had a son, Edward, who came to the United States in1871 to avoid the Franco-Prussian War.
Edward said he had an aunt and uncle who manufactured leather goods for the Russian army.

I am researching the Von Stein family. They were a noble family. They lived a castle near the Rhine River in cappenberg. Which lived a Baron Von Stein. He was ivnvole
with the military and political arena. I am looking for Frank Von Stein birth 14/02/1843 or 1853 he was born in Breslau Poland. He had a brother Frederich that was a prussian officer. He also did not want to go fighting for the goverment. Both brother came to the USA. I would enjoy hearing from you maybe we can help each other in are quest.

My Stein family came from Prussia and it may have been from the area of Schonbrunn. I have records going back to 1801.
