SCOTS IN EAST PRUSSIA

I am currently trying to find out more about my greatgrandfather's father's place of origin.
My greatgrandfather FRANZ GIEBSON was born on September 15, 1881 in Rominten, East Prussia (today part of the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad).
His father was the bricklayer MARTIN GIEBSON.
From 1600 to 1800 approximately 30,000 Scots settled in East Prussia, and MARTIN's ancestors were probably part of this immigration wave.
Since most records (Church and Civil) from the Rominten area were lost or destroyed after or during 1945 I am now trying to locate the port of entry for most of the Scots that came to East Prussia (Koenigsberg or Gdansk?).
Thus I am hoping to find out where the "Gibsons" landed and maybe even where they went from there.
A royal census from 1615 lists 410 Scots in East Prussia (just their names!), and among them were 2 "Gipsons"!
Any help on how to gain more information and/or help in my research would be greatly appreciated!
