Does anyone know what this location could be? My searches are coming up empty, but this is what the census has for my gg grandmother's place of birth. Other years have Prussia and Germany; but the family story has always been Holland.

Any answers or suggestions greatly appreciated!

For me it seems to be something which was written in "English" as the writer heard from a German speaking:
Lippe-Detmold. This is an old German principality until 1918 with the capital Detmold. Today it is part of the federal state of Northrhine-Westfalia. See more at "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lippe-Detmold"

Thanks for your help in this puzzle. I'm glad that the enumerator wrote that down because now I have more of a clue than in later census when they put Prussia and Germany.
