I know it has been years but I worked to follow up on the clues you gave me.I wanted say thank you because of your help I kept looking.

I know have verification that Charles/Carl's home town was Jarmen, Demmin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

I also know have dropped 'Victoria' and have Augusta H Zastrow as from Swinemunde, Germany. Her last name is possibly a first marriage unless her daughter was born out of wedlock.
Some of this information was only found when going through my mom's papers after her death. Thank you again for taking time to help.

They all came to America about 1883 to 1885. They settled in Milwaukee, WI."

DO you have death dates for Friedrich & Bertha? There are possible matches for them found in the local German newspapers using either spelling. There are over 200 Radtke and about 1910 Rathke entries found in "Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950).
Hess or Oldenburg families around Beustin or Nelep Pomerania

One of my great great grandmothers, Augusta Hess Bethke Dehnel had a brother Carl Hess (not sure if his first name was really something else like Fredreich Wilhelm or such)that worked for Herr Wilde at the Ev Lutheran church of Nelep. I'm trying to find out more detail about the Hess Family we believe that the father was Wilhelm Hess and that Augusta and Carls mother's last name was Oldenburg or a variation of that. However, one death certificate says name was Carolina and one says Henriette. Does anyone have Hess or Oldenburg branches that were from Beustin or the Nelep areas of Kreis Belgard or Schievelbein areas of Pomerania? I'm also interested in finding out any other details about anyone connected with the Church at Nelep or specific history details of that church. I think the cemetery was quite demolished during WW. Augusta immigrated with her family / second husband and children and Carl came to US a couple of times and then died here in early 1900s and Augusta died in 1930. They are both buried in Fairfax, Minnesota St Johns Lutheran cemetery on edge of town.

I'm trying to find my Wangerin family from the early to mid 1800s and farther back. Eduard Wangerin was b. 1835 in Dummerfitz & had at least two brothers. He married Johanne Caroline/Friederike Wilhelmine Raske in 1859. She was from Eulenburg. I've found their marriage & children's baptisms in the Pielburg: Dummerfitz records in the LDS microfilms.

My question is, what parish were Dummerfitz & Eulenburg attached to before 1840? I've looked in Pielburg and the only other town listed with it before 1840 is Linde. Does anyone know the answer or where I can find the answer? I've done searches on the internet with no luck.

I have Brunow ancestors from Moltow which is part of the Gross Jestin Parish. My Brunows came to America in 1870. They came as a group and settled in Suburban Chicago. The church here in Cook County show that my Great Great Grandfather, Daniel Brunow was born in Moltow. It states that his Father was Freidrich Brunow. He married a Henriette Wilhemena UNKNOWN. I'd like to find a marriage record to get her Surname. Their daughter, Friediercke, married my Great Grandfather, Herman Wotke, here in Chicago. Now, the family may have move from Moltow before coming to America because Friediercke was born in Zernin, which is not far away from Moltow.

I would suggest it might be Glietzig - there were two places with this name, one now called Glicko, the other Klepnica, in the area you want which is now in Poland. They seem to be two small villages. Try a bit of google mapping.

I have a marriage record that says the groom was born in what looks like Gliteig (see attached). I think it should be near Falkenberg bei Schivelbein but I have not found it on the 1892 map. The groom was born in 1875 and the marriage took place in Wisconsin in 1899.

Requesting any information on Amiel F Polzin born Feb 9,1889 in Stettin, Germany. This information came from his WW1 registration card. He died Sept 8, 1944 in Minnesota. He married Winnifred "Winnie" McCartney born March 27, 1892 from Iowa. We are having difficulty finding information on the Polzin side. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My 2 gr grandmother Wilhelmine (Krohs) Brodt was born 1818 in Zechlin, parish Langebose, Pomerania, Prussia, which is now in Poland between Slupsk & Gdansk. Other Krohs names from Zechlin are Theodor Krohs (possibly b. 1820s), Ludwig Krohs (possibly b. 1820s), Bertha Krohs (possibly b. 1850s). Possible birth years are approximate & based on death age of children.

Available parish & civil records for this area are limited to the 1870s & early 1880s. I'm looking for descendants, relatives, or researchers for Krohs in northern Poland. Thanks in advance for a reply.

I have been using kartenmeister.com for a long time, and it is an excellent source of names of towns in Prussia, the parishes with which they are associated, Polish names, etc. Yesterday when I tried to access it, it wouldn't come up, and now it gets a page that says the domain name has expired. Anybody know if there's another way to get into it, or a different domain name?

Hi Kelly,

Yes, that would be wonderful if you could look up information on my great-grandmother, Martha Wegner. This is her maiden name. She was born on Jan. 5, 1873. According to information I've received previously, her parents were Carl Gottlieb Wegner (b. 03 Apr 1834) and Auguste Maria Juliane Zielke (b. 07 Feb 1843). I know of one sister, Auguste Wegner who immigrated to the U.S. a couple years before my great-grandmother. Could you see if there is information on when my great-great grandparents died as well as names of other siblings?

Still trying to find where Anna DEIST and Theodor Carl LOENIG were married. Germany or USA? From the information on 1900 and 1910 Census, they say they were married in 1865. Believe both to have immigrated early 1860s. First child was born Nov 1865 in Chicago, IL. Have searched Ancestry.com and Family Search many times and can find no records of marriage. Thanks for any help
Lin Irish

Hi Kaylene
My Ehlerth/Lindenberg research has been on a go slow.
Are you aware the Conondale School Centenary is on 15th September? I think Don and your aunt Kathleen went to the school. My sister, father, and I expect to be the there (dad being a post pupil)

The school has been collecting lots of local memories to display on the day so it could be interesting.

KROSS/KROZZ/KROSG in Pomerania

I am looking for anyone researching or related to the surnames Kross, Krozz, or Krosg, or any close variation. IL death records for 2 children of my gr gr grandmother Wilhelmine (??) Brodt give Krosg & Krozz (another has Kersi)as Wilhelmine's possible maiden name. The family was from Zechlin (now Zychlin) kreis Slupsk (Stolp) Poland, & may also have lived in Morgenstern. Husband Johann Brodt died in Zechlin before 1880, when the rest of the family emigrated to Chicago. According to the Prussian datanbank website, the name Krozz/Kross/Krost still existed in the villages betw Stolp & Gdansk, so I'm hoping Wilhelmine had siblings with descendants. I'm currently waiting for the LDS film that may have Johann's death record. I have tons of info on the family in IL & contact with Brodt cousins, but would like to find distant relatives/descendants of Wilhelmine's sibs or even cousins. Thanks in advance.

I finally got around to viewing the film for Weisskehle, Kreis Rawitsch and is does contain the records for my Radoy family. Now I just need to read the Latin and figure out what it says.

Gail

"Weisskehle, Kreis Rawitsch with the german eszett (looks like a "B" to us) taking the place of the "ss". This town is now in Poland, 6 km from Pakoslaw."
