I am at a standstill with my research (not really knowing how to proceed in European research). My ancestors came over from
Prussia in the 1860's. The family surname is
Siewert.
Gottlieb
Siewert b. abt 1820 (married to Wilhelmina
Busse b. 10/6/1820) had 12 children, all coming to
America and settling in Colgate/Richfield area of
Wisconsin. The family hearsay is that
Gottlieb did not come to the US and that Wilhelmina came over with a couple of the kids and her mother-in-law Carolinea. All the above locations listed appear as birthplaces at different times in different year censuses.
Children's names are: Caroline, Martin,
Gottlieb Johann, Daniel, William
Christophe (my g grandfather),
Augusta, John August,
Ludwig Martin, Julia, Johanna, Wilhemine & Frederick J.
Any assistance or leads would be much appreciated. And I am aware that the name
Siewert could be listed as
Sievert,
Sibert, Zievert, etc... I am looking for anyone that might have a link somewhere.
Thank you! Ron
