Surnames: Habermann, ZImmermann
Julius Habermann born 30 Jul 1827 and died 24 Oct 1899 in NEw BRaunfels, Comal Co., TX. He emigrated from the Port of Hamburg in 1852
I have different location and I am trying to establish where these places were and whether they were German at the time or not.
His obituary says "Neu-Dresden near Sonnenburg, Prussia.
His son's baptismal record says "Neuresen, District Sternberg, Province Brandenberg, Kingdom of Prussia. He moved at age 7 to the Province of Posen, where, I believe, his parents, Christian Habermann and Dorothea Zimmermann Habermann are buried. Supposedly their tombstones say they were free land holders from Slepuchowo.
HELP me locate these places and get my history straight. Any advice on how to proceed would be very greatly appreciated!
