I am searching for parents and siblings of Francizek Holik born 1847 in Husatin, Galicia.
Francisek Holik and his wife, Carolina nee Demkiw, emigrated to Canada in 1899 with the youngest six of seven children, four sons and two daughters: Anthony born May 26, 1877, John born May 22, 1879, Karl born Sept. 20, 1881, Josef born March 16, 1887, Magdelena born March 16, 1889 and Anna born October 12, 1890.
We believe the children were born in Horodnycja, Galicia.
In Canada they first settled to farm at Fish Creek, Saskatchewan for a few years before he and the sons took up homesteads near Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan.
At some point in their schooling or registering for land their names were changed to various spellings of Holik (E.g. Holik, Hollik, Holick, Hollick).
Michael Holik, the oldest son of Francizek Holik, did not emigrate in 1899.
Michael Holik was born September 29, 1872 and in 1896 married Franceska Haczynska. He worked as a miller in Touste, Galicia where four sons were born.: Walter born April 9, 1898, Casimir born May 7, 1901, Frank born June 10, 1904 and Karol born September 9, 1907.
They emigrated to Canada via Ellis Island on June 2, 1909. They also settled to farm at Fish Creek, Saskatchewan for a few years before taking up a homestead near North Battleford Saskatchewan, Canada.
