Hello!
My grandfather Pawel/Paul Krepicz (have also seen as Krepics, Krepycz or Krepich) came over from Habkowce, Galicia in 1918. He left behind his father and supposedly a step-mother. I never heard about his siblings. Pawel/Paul was the son of John and Paraska (nee Markanicz) Krepicz. He and his family were a part of the Ukrainian National Association. They also attended the St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Catholic Church of Palmerton, PA. Paul was affiliated with its societies. I'm not sure when, but his nephew came to live with Pawel/Paul, his wife, and children. It wasn't until I saw obituaries and family documents that I learned more information. Pawel's nephew--John/Ivan's parent's were Michael and Maria (Fedczyk) Krepycz. John was born in "Galicia, Sianik, Ukraine.
..Now his wife's family... His wife was born in Pennsylvania, while her parents were from Galicia...
I can't find the villages or make out the names.
I have a copy of the "Testimonium Matrimonii" It says Anthony Husak was the child of Peter of Kathryn Husak. It looks like "Radywa, Lisko, Galicia"? Then Anna Squmejda/Squmyda? was the son of Sophron and Parasceva Squamejda/Squmyda? It looks like "Jablinky, Lisko, Galicia"? I have in my family tree as "Schumada". The document, other than parts filled in, is Latin. The marriage between Anthony and Anna accorded in Pennsylvania.
I can't find anything on the villages or surnames? I also am struggling with how to find documents. I don't know where exactly to reach out for information. Especially other countries. Which archives/etc?
