Hi all! I'm guessing Dave G can answer this.
I have the OFB for Josefow and I'm trying to understand a few things. I get the list of abbreviations but there are some notes that confuse me. Here's one example.
28.3.1812 in Josefów {Jozefów, Josypivka} (Radziechów)/Gal. [UA], am 8.7.1814 ebd., am 7.9.1816 ebd., am 14.11.1818 Kolonist ebd.
I get that ebd is the same place, but why is Kolonist added in there when previous entries in Josefow doesn't list him as a Kolonist? In fact, the others in the OFB don't offer that kind of information at all. It further lists this man as a Bauer and a Shultz, so I'm guessing those are occupations (farmer, judge and town official)? They look like this:
am 26.2.1825 Bauer ebd.
am 12.4.1833 Bauer (agricola) ebd.
am 9.5.1837 Ortsrichter ebd.
am 16.6.1844 Schulz ebd.
Finally, one more question, I'm not sure what err means, but I understand it means he was born in 1792:
* 1792 (err.)
Many thanks to anyone who can help!
