My grandfather Joseph von Tucholski arrived in this country aboard the SS Herman on February 04, 1881 at the Port of Baltimore. The ship had come from Bremen. He married my grandmother Barbara Hertowski in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US. On their marriage certificate he states his father is Joseph Tucholski and mother, Antonia Krainik. Place of birth Prussia. I believe both grandparents came from the same area. Barbara's parents were Franz Hertowski and Catharina Roschea. I beg for help to find some information before this point in their lives.
