I was over at the Family History Center today do some follow-up on another family I'm looking at and decided to look at the immigration records for the Geibs.
The group that I found arriving in Canada in 1921 consisted of Marie, her children Alfred, Eleonore, Ottilie, and Rudolph, and George's widowed mother, Eleonore, all headed to join George in Melville.
The place of birth given for the children was Czereszanka, except for Eleonore, who was born in Unter Stanestie. Marie is also listed as being born in Unter Stanestie, and George's mother is listed as having been born in Landestreu, Galicia. Her closest relative appears to be her brother, Adam Christian, while everyone else lists Marie's mother Katharina Schmalenberg.
Czereszanka was to the east and north of Katharinendorf and Unter Stanestie (often on the maps as U. Stanestie) was a bit farther east and north, but not all the way to Czernowitz.
Given that all the children and their mother are listed as having been born in Bukovina it's likely that Georg and Marie were married there, so you'd need to research the Czernowitz parish records to make any headway on Marie's family.
As for Georg's mother, even though she was born in Landestreu, it's hard to say where she married Georg's father. She appears to been born around 1860 or 1861, so she probably married in the late 1870's. At that time in that part of Galicia, the typical marriage age for men was about twenty and for women about eighteen. With Georg born in 1880 (keep in mind it could be plus or minus a year), he was probably Eleonore's first child.
