I came across your query and wonder if I have information that might be of use to you. My great-grandfater, Michael Georget Neidl, was born in 1894 or 1895 in Albany, New York. His father, my great-great-grandfather, Franz Neidl was born in Germany and came to the US some years prior to my great-grandfather's birth. I have heard that Franz had siblings - brothers, I believe, who moved to the Utica/Rome part of New York State around that same time.

I am not certain of the time of Franz's death, but I suspect that it was in the late 1920's or early 30's. He married twice, and was widowed the first time. He is buried here in Albany, New York in the Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. My great-grandfather, Michael, died in January 1986.
