I believe Lipje is shorthand for either Veliko Lipje or Malo Lipje, two small nearby villages in the parish of Hinje. I have attempted reconstruction of a family trees of three siblings from Veliko Lipje - Joseph (b. 21-Apr-1880), Martin or Matthew (b. 24-Feb-1876), and Frank (b. 29-Sep-1890). These men and their families lived in Cleveland according to 1910, 1920, and 1930 censuses. There is a possibility that these are Catherine's siblings, and perhaps John (listed as her sponsor) lived in Joliet or LaSalle. These are such common Slovenian names it's hard to be sure from what I've found, but it could be that all of Catherine's siblings immigrated to the US.
